Safety & Qualification Requirements
This guide is for qualified installation teams only. Padel court assembly involves heavy steel components, tempered glass, and electrical work. Improper installation voids the warranty and creates serious safety risks. Do not proceed without certified personnel.
Minimum team requirements:
- Team size: 6–8 workers minimum for standard court installation
- Crane / telehandler: minimum 5-ton lifting capacity required for steel pillars and roof sections
- Electrical: licensed electrician required for all lighting connections
- Glass handling: at least 2 workers trained in tempered glass handling — suction cups required
- PPE: hard hats, steel-toe boots, cut-resistant gloves, and safety glasses mandatory throughout
WolPadel can provide on-site installation supervision upon request. Contact us before scheduling your install date.
Tools & Equipment
Pre-mobilizationEnsure all the following tools and equipment are on-site before work begins:
All fasteners (bolts, nuts, washers) are included in the WolPadel shipment. Do not substitute with non-supplied hardware — grade and coating specifications must match.
Foundation Requirements
Site prep — before deliveryThe foundation must be completed and cured at least 28 days before court installation begins. WolPadel courts are not supplied with foundation work — this is the client's responsibility.
| Parameter | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Overall slab area | Minimum 22m × 12m (2m perimeter clearance on all sides) |
| Concrete grade | C25 minimum (3,500 psi / 25 MPa) |
| Slab thickness | Minimum 200mm (250mm recommended for roofed models) |
| Reinforcement | 10mm rebar at 200mm grid; double layer under anchor points |
| Surface flatness | Maximum 3mm deviation over any 3m run (use laser level) |
| Surface finish | Power-float finish (not broom finish) — smooth for turf adhesion |
| Drainage slope | 0.5–1.0% gradient toward perimeter drain channels |
| Anchor point positions | Per WolPadel anchor layout drawing (supplied with order) |
| Embedded sleeves | M20 anchor bolts or 100×100mm sleeves at all pillar positions |
Anchor layout drawing is project-specific. Do not cast anchor bolts until you have received and verified the drawing from WolPadel's engineering team against your site survey.
Typical Installation Timeline
7–10 working daysThe following schedule applies to a standard single-court installation with a full team. Roofed and custom models may require additional time.
Unloading & Component Inspection
Receive shipment, check all items against packing list, organize on-site. Report any shipping damage to WolPadel within 24 hours with photo evidence.
Base Plate & Primary Pillar Installation
Position and grout base plates. Erect primary double-pillar columns. Verify plumb and level on each pillar before proceeding.
Secondary Structure & Top Rail
Install secondary pillars, horizontal cross-members, and top rail. Torque all structural connections to specification.
Glass Panel Installation
Install tempered glass panels using suction lifters. Apply gaskets and silicone sealant. Inspect each panel for edge chips before installation.
Mesh Fence Installation
Install mesh fence panels and tension wire system. Ensure uniform tension — no visible sag.
Artificial Turf Laying
Roll out turf panels, align seams, glue joints, and apply infill. Allow 24 hours before play.
LED Lighting & Electrical
Erect lighting poles, mount fixtures, run cabling, and connect to site power. Test all circuits before sealing.
Net, Finishing & Commissioning
Install net and posts, apply final silicone to glass joints, clean court surface, conduct full commissioning inspection.
Steel Structure Assembly
Follow this sequence strictly. Do not proceed to the next step until the current step is verified by the site supervisor.
4.1 — Base Plate Positioning
Set base plates using the anchor layout drawing. Shim to level within ±1mm. Grout with non-shrink grout; allow 24h cure before loading.
4.2 — Primary Pillar Erection
Crane-lift double pillars (80×60mm combined 140×140mm) to base plates. Insert M20 bolts but do not torque until all pillars are plumb-checked.
4.3 — Plumb & Alignment Check
Use total station to verify each pillar is plumb to within 2mm over 4m height. Adjust with shim plates as needed before final torque.
4.4 — Final Torque
Torque all M20 base plate bolts to 280 Nm. Torque M16 structural bolts to 180 Nm. M12 secondary bolts to 90 Nm. Mark all bolts with torque marker.
4.5 — Top Rail & Cross Members
Install horizontal rail sections. Ensure equal spacing between pillars. Weld any site-cut ends and apply cold zinc spray immediately.
4.6 — Door Frames
Install door frame sections last within the structural phase. Verify door swing clearance and hinge alignment before glass phase begins.
Glass Panel Installation
Never use broken or chipped panels. Inspect each 12mm tempered glass panel for edge damage before installation. A chipped edge can cause spontaneous fracture — return any damaged panel to WolPadel for replacement under the shipping damage clause.
- Use 4-point vacuum suction lifters — minimum 200kg rated. Never handle glass with bare hands on the surface.
- Fit EPDM rubber gaskets into the steel channel before lowering each panel. Gaskets must be continuous with no gaps or joints at corners.
- Lower panels vertically — never tilt more than 5° from vertical during installation.
- Once seated, apply neutral-cure silicone (not acetoxy/acid-cure) to all four edges, tooling to a smooth 8mm fillet. Do not apply silicone in temperatures below 5°C or above 40°C.
- Allow silicone to cure fully (minimum 24 hours at 20°C) before applying any load to the glass edges.
- Install glass doors last — adjust hinges so the door swings freely without contact with the glass panels on either side.
Artificial Turf Laying
WolPadel supplies KDK monofilament turf in roll widths to minimize on-court seams. All seams must run parallel to the sidelines — never across the baseline.
- Surface preparation: Sweep the concrete base thoroughly. Fill any surface voids or cracks. Apply a solvent-free primer if the concrete surface is dusty or porous — allow to dry.
- Roll out: Unroll turf panels along the length of the court (20m direction). Allow to acclimatize for 2 hours in ambient conditions before trimming.
- Seam taping: Butt seam edges together precisely. Apply 30cm-wide seam tape beneath both edges. Apply seam adhesive, press down firmly, and roll with a hand roller. Weight seams for 2 hours.
- Perimeter fixing: Fold the turf up the base of each pillar by 50mm and secure with stainless steel staples at 100mm centres. Apply a bead of silicone to the top edge of the fold.
- Infill application: Apply dry quartz sand (Ø1.6–1.25mm) in 3 passes using a spreader cart. Target rate: 10 kg/m². After each pass, brush the turf against the pile direction. Visible fiber above infill: 2–3mm.
- Final brush: Run a mechanical brush over the full surface to stand up fibers uniformly. Do not allow play for 24 hours after infill completion.
LED Lighting Setup
All electrical connections must be performed by a licensed electrician. Verify local electrical codes and supply voltage before installation. WolPadel LED drivers are factory-set for 220–240V AC / 50Hz.
- Pole erection: Bolt lighting poles (Z-style or C-style, min. 6m) to their base plates. Verify plumb. Torque to 280 Nm.
- Fixture mounting: Attach 200W LED luminaires to the boom arms at the angles shown in the layout drawing (typically 15–25° downward tilt). Hand-tighten mounting brackets initially.
- Aim & angle: Position lights to achieve even coverage across the full court surface. Standard layout: 4 poles × 2 heads = 8 fixtures total. Aim inner fixtures toward the far sideline, outer fixtures toward the near sideline.
- Cabling: Route armoured cable from each fixture to the distribution board using conduit or cable tray. Minimum cable rating: 2.5mm² copper for runs under 30m.
- Connection: Connect each driver to the supply circuit. All fixtures must be on an RCD-protected circuit rated at least 20A.
- Test: Energize circuits and verify all 8 fixtures illuminate. Measure lux at court center and at each corner — minimum 400 lux at any point, 500+ lux at center. Adjust aim as needed and lock all mounting bolts to final torque.
Net & Post Assembly
- Install the net posts at the center of the court (10m from each baseline), anchored to the concrete base with the supplied base flanges. Verify posts are perfectly perpendicular using a plumb bob.
- Thread the top cable through the net's top hem. Attach cable ends to the stainless steel anchors on the side walls. Tension with the supplied tensioner until the top of the net is at the correct height: 0.88m at center, 0.92m at each sideline.
- Verify heights with a measuring tape at three points: center and 1m from each post. Adjust side anchors symmetrically until heights are within ±5mm of target.
- Fit the bottom hem band to keep the net taut and preventing the ball from passing underneath. Secure all rubber post pads to protect glass panels adjacent to posts.
